Documentary filmaking has a long creative tradition in Belgium, supported for 25 years by WIP and CBA, Wallonie Image Production and Le Centre de l’audiovisuel à Bruxelles. Two production centers allied in a common reflexion and vision of documentary film : the documented point of view of an author, allowing creativity to express itself, while securing accessibility to television audiences. Two associations composed of cinema technicians, directors, producers, as well as key players of the cultural world, in an original structure, unique in Europe. One common aim : coproduce, promote and distribute documentaries in all formats.
Since 1998, a shared unit and catalog of distribution was created, Ventes-CBA/WIP-Sales, proposing 500 films (one-offs and collections, feature lenght, 52 or 26 mlnutes) with mutliple themes : International / Society -- Current affairs -- Arts & Culture -- History -- Green / Social responsibility -- Discovery & Adventure -- Health & Psychology -- Women -- Religion -- P.O.V. -- Americas & Latin America -- Africa -- Middle East / Arab World -- Asia / Pacific -- East Europe ...
